Arena Cheese, one of Wisconsin's oldest cheese plants, is located in the Wisconsin River Valley within the lush, green, rolling hills of the Spring Green area, made famous by Frank Lloyd Wright as well as Arena's authentic Colby-Jack cheese. With a long-standing reputation for this "Wisconsin Original" created in 1979. Arena's cheesemakers have crafted Colby-Jack in the same location with the same recipe and cheesemaking techniques since its discovery more than three decades ago.
This award-winning "washed curd" cheese...as well as Colby cheese, an American Original. discovered in Colby. Wisconsin in 1885 and also made at Arena for decades...is known for its distinctive open texture and mild buttery flavors. Both varieties are still formed in the traditional longhorn and deli-horn shapes. Now proudly marketed under the new Spring Green™ label.

Arena's Wisconsin licensed cheesemakers. led by Bill Hanson pari owner originally from Wisconsin's famous (Green County cheese region has nearly 30 years of cheesemaking experience and understands that Arena's customers expect great, consistent and authentic cheeses. Bill and his son. Thad. are eight-time medal winners in the U.S. and World Cheese Championships for Colby Longhorn and flavored semi-soft cheeses.

The Arena Cheese Team, led by Bill Hanson and Thad Hanson, head of Quality Assurance, was awarded certification in 2012 under the demanding guidelines of the British Retail Consortium (BRC) which is a critical segment of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). The BRC certification validates that a robust food safety program is in place, moving Arena Cheese and the Spring Green™ products to the highest level of quality assurance to continually benefit our customers. As part of the commitment to quality all of Arena's cheeses are crafted with natural, locally sourced milk from cows that have not been treated with rBST*. Tlie Spring Green™ portfolio of Wisconsin cheeses in the 6-inch Longhorn style, and 4-inch Deli Horns also includes Cheddar and Monterey Jack, Classic Dutch-Style Gouda and Edam; the new All Natural Hardwood Smoked Gouda; and flavored Colby and Cheddar varieties.
